Gemma the Healing Assistant- My Story

My Human Design

‘I am profoundly intuitive and can sense the patterns that keep others stuck in limiting beliefs and constricted action. Through my insights and awareness, I help others break, free from past limited patterns and learn to find the power in their pain, find the blessings in their challenges and help them align more deeply with an authentic awareness of their true values and purpose. “ - Karen Parker Curry

I believe healing begins within. You have the innate ability to unlock your power for lasting change. I'll support you as you explore self-discovery and empowerment. Trust your inner wisdom. Together, through regression, techniques, reflection, and conversation, we'll release what doesn't serve you and embrace who you truly are.

My background story.

I am Gemma. I could be described in many ways. A yogi, a healer, a hairdresser, a traveller, a can*cer warrior. A woman who likes to talk to the birds and sings to the bees. Someone who in curious about life and enjoys asking many questions to find out the true answers. Someone who dances to the beat of her own drum and encourages others to also do so.

For 20 years, I stood behind the chair, not just as a hairdresser, but as a confidante. I've always believed hairdressers are the world's first therapists, witnessing the stories and transformations that unfold in our chairs. Yet, I yearned for a deeper purpose. In 2015 I found myself in England, where I was introduced t0 the transformative power of yoga, which ignited a profound journey of self-discovery. Through the body, I began to peel back layers, uncovering my authentic self. This path also revealed the subtle yet powerful world of energy work. As I began to feel energy, I became fascinated with the unseen realms. Shortly after I undertook my first Reiki training. I was captivated by its gentle, profound healing.

By 2018, I was fully immersed in yoga. Following a breakup, I packed my bags and went travelling and eventually volunteering at yoga retreats in Spain and Greece. This was a period of intense learning, living and breathing yoga alongside fellow yogis and healers. In 2019, I completed my yoga teacher training in Brazil and then taught in Ecuador and Spain. In 2020, I returned to New Zealand after 14 years away. Shortly after, I undertook Angelic Reiki training, where my intuitive skills and healing abilities significantly increased. It was during this course that I had my first glimpse of past life regression work, a therapy that deeply resonated with me. When I discovered past life regression in that reiki training, I felt I had found my niche, and my calling.

I knew I needed to study regression healing exclusively and undertook my formal training with Dawn Grace Kelly. This training was a gift that changed my future forever. It taught me the depth of healing you can achieve with regression. But most importantly it taught me so much about the life and death cycle, which helped me in the years to come. During this training, I was diagnosed with a rare form of c*ncer, called PMP. My only option for survival and recovery was MOAS surgery (Mother Of All Surgeries). It was an extensive, 20-hour multi-organ removal procedure involving 11 organs and body parts. It is the largest operation a person can undergo, and the post op recovery time was several years. I spent many months bedridden, relearning to walk, and adjusting to life with an ileostomy stoma due to bowel issues. This was a challenging period marked by PTSD, insomnia, chronic fatigue, anaemia, hormonal imbalances, malnutrition, and the bowel issues following my major surgery.

In a paradox I never expected, cancer became one of the most profound and transformative experiences of my life. Some days now, that I am through the worst of it, I look back in gratitude. It gifted me with a raw understanding of hospital systems, the vulnerability of illness, and the stark fear of facing mortality. It carved into me a deeper kindness, an overflowing empathy, and boundless compassion. This health crisis recently showed me that I needed to experience the heart's pain within the body, to plunge into the darkest depths to ultimately find the light, and my own light. I had to walk this path, to truly understand the challenges we face, so that I could offer genuine, heartfelt support to others in their moments of need.

Life is too short to continue living in our pains, traumas and difficulties we face in life. I wish to be of any support to others to move beyond these limitations.
